Exploring Zen, Healing, and the Body

Of all the things that inhabit this vast universe, nothing is more enigmatic than what is closest to us – our own nature.

From the mundane to the metaphysical, this blog is dedicated to exploring the enigma of human existence and our attempt to find our place in all this. The exploration will take place in many different ways, and will include the practice of Zen, philosophy, healing, holism, Rolfing, poetry, photography, and the true stories from everyday life that function like parables. There is also a section devoted to articles on these topics.Ultimately, however, the answers to life’s most profound questions are made manifest in direct experience, not words. But words and concepts have their place. Even though they are not adequate to the job of revealing the truth of what is, any quest would be impossible without them. My first Zen teacher once said to me, “Philosophy is a compass that points the way. But meditation is the machete that brings us home.”
